monitor calibration
To properly view the photos on this webpage, it is recommended that you calibrate your monitor.
As most of the pictures here will centralize around the black and white format, you can use the black
point and white point charts below to ensure your monitor is able to properly render the entire greyscale.
Take a look at the following:
Do the patches marked 0 and 10 in the grayscale appear to be the same?
If they do then you need to calibrate your monitor's black point.
Do the patches marked 95 and 100 appear to be the same?
If they do then you need to calibrate your monitor's white point.
The black and white points can be calibrated by using the contrast and brightness controls of your monitor.
Beyond that, if the above scales still don't look right or appear tinted, you will need to do some
gamma correction which will require special software. If you are so inclined, do a quick web search
on 'monitor gamma correction'.
